PG Worlds 2015 in Roldanillo (CO) -Final results

Yesterday the final (and 10th) task at the PG Worlds 2015 in Roldanilla (CO) was flown.
Nicole managed to improve her final ranking and finished 3rd - Congratulations!
Especially considering, what had happend to her in La Réunion a few months ago and how hard she had to work to overcome her neck injury and thus to be able to compete in such a high level competition.

You can find more info about the competition on her Facebook page.

All results can be found here.

PG Worlds 2015 in Roldanillo (CO)

14th FAI World Paragliding Championships, Roldanillo, Colombia 2015
Colombia, Roldanillo 10 - 25 Jan, 2015 FAI 1

Under the above link you can find everything: task, live tracking, blog, pilots...

Of course my 'favorite' pilot is also participating; this time with an ENZO2 (after her very unfortunate and frustrating experience with the Italian importer of Niviuk, though she had won quite some comps under wings by this manufacturer...)

Her blog can be found here.

ParaglidingXC (App for Android and iPhone)

Here you can find the link to the app 'paraglidingxc'
Ideal for rainy and windy days if you want just to play around a bit...

According to the devellopers the app does NOT access the GPS and if it drains the battery too quickly, set your device to 'flight mode'. It accesses the internet only via WLAN and send just your name (which can be changed in the set up)

Arosa (6./ 7./ 8.1.15)

The last 2 days I have been to Arosa (again), this time with my friend Andy.
Perfect winter weather with blue, cloud less skies, but the wind still out of the NW, which is not really optimal for taking off on the Weisshorn.
So we needed a few attempts on both days before we got off. I think I finally figured out why I had so much trouble (foreward-) launching my glider: so far I used only the inner (2) A-lines; for the last 2 (successful) TO's I have used all 3 A-lines and it has worked much better...
Wednesday (7.1.): there have even been some light thermals above Maladers, which permitted me to make some turns and climb 50m.

finally! (Air Design Rise 2)

New Year: after having failed to fly from the Wiesshorn several times in the last 4 weeks due to 'unsuitable' wind (either direction and/ or strenght) I finally managed to make the 'maiden flight' with my AirDesign Rise2.

Arosa Weisshorn: TO (by Marlies)

Reverse launching in the light easterly wind was no problem. The modification made to the risers now allow me to reach easily the (outer) A-lines for making big ears.
I didn't perform any manouvers at all; I just enjoyed the smooth air and the cloudless blue sky on my flight to Chur.

Chur: main station
I hope this nice start into the new flying year will be a good 'omen' for the flights to come!
