Again, the wx is not really playing along ;-)
Saturday / Sunday (6./ 7.5.) heavy rain (xxRA) at times, so I had ample time to catch up on my blog, Flickr etc. On both days also a visit to an Onsen... Saturday evening once more cooking risotto for Yuko and me. There has also been time for a visit to a local barber shop: it didn't turn out to badly. But what's more important: everyone involved had a lot of fun :-)
...and they have charged me only 1'300JPY (less than 10CHF) for cutting the hair and trimming my beard; but I think the just charged me for cutting my hair...
The outlook for the coming (remaining) 3 days here in Southern Japan is not too bad, but I had to cancel the trip to Amami island, as there is no chance of flying due to way too much wind; and just for sightseeing the effort/ expense would have been 'just' a bit too much... But many thanks to Atsushi and the lady from the Amami flight school for setting up a possible visit! Here: Amami flight areas. (all in Japanese only - but DeepL can help)
Later today Rick should send me his suggestions for Mon-Wed; he has told me earlier, that Southern Kyushu should offer some possibilites for flying (also new sites)...
After we've had Onsen once more in the afternoon, Rick's suggestion arrived: Nishiharadai, at the far Southern end of Kyushu. Even though the fcst had deteriorated a bit compared to yesterday, he still thinks that there should be a flyable window around noon. So we should be at the LZ by 1030. He also provided us with the phone number of a local Pilot.
As it's a rather long drive from KMJ, I booked 2 rooms in Kagoshima (KOJ) at a so called 'Love Hotel' and after dinner at an Indian restaurant in KMJ we departed. Interestingly these 'Love Hotels' often offer rather cheap nightly rates, why we haven't been able to figure out... (and the rooms/ bathrooms are often bigger than in a so-called 'Business Hotel'.)
