Bezau (Leeloo Treff) 24.7.2026

Fri (24.7.) At 1000we met at the landing in Andelsbuch the Leeloo Group. I have driven with  Roger, who lifes nearby; he has also an appartement in Arosa and 1985 flying Hanggliders, bevor switching to PG a vew years later. He wanted to fly a LeelooX (S).

The launch on 'Niedere' took me a little than 30' with a climb of 100m: just about the limit for me of carrying my gear... The wind still came-in due South and permitted a good TO. The themals at times have been a bit bumpy.

After about 1.2hrd I landed in Bezau. When I loaded my gear into my car a lokal school pilot told me that after 1100 (!) one shouldn't be landing here anymore as it could be very dangerous (wind...). Michael, Gudrun and I couldn't really understand this 'warning' as the whole afternoon the conditions have been really easy to land hera; certainly easier than the landing at Andelsbuch (where I should have landed instead.),; but the wind there came downhill...
My only flight here before has been on 1.11.1993 ;-) and I think these 2 flights remain the only onces here: especially as the cable car from Andelsbuch has been closed in 2023. Everything is a bit cumbersome: transportation, hike to launch (for me), landings that are said be tricky.

Ebenalp 22.7.2026

For once a flight with a good launch and landing ;-)  Thermals have been a bit bummpy at times...  WInd on landing: 'Bise' (up to 25kmh); above 2000m W-NW.

Scheidegg 11.7.2026

Only a short flight (29'). As 'usual' problems on launch :-(( -finally got airborne on the third attempt. Good thermals... 'Hüebli': landing tricky due to changing winds (even from North with > 15kmh for a while)...

Ebenalp 2.7.2026

Thur (2.7.) After more than 2 years, I went to ‘Ebenalp’ and could make a nice flight (1.25hr) with great views.

I left at 0915; I had checked the 'Ebenalp' webcam around 0730 and it did showed only little clouds; passing after Frauenfeld, the clouds over the 'Alpstein' / Säntis had become bigger and I was thinking of returning back home... Lockily I didn't change my mind as the conditions in the end turned out quite nicel. Towards 'Säntis', the clouds have been below mountain top and big, but the thermals have been abundant and also strong (> 4.5 m/s) at times.

Galgenen 25./ 26.6.2026

25.6. For once, I had a really nice take-off and could enjoy the nice views

25.6. Contrary to yesterday it was a 'lousy' flight: problems on launch, not finding any decent thermals and a lousy landing :-((   (all pix from 25.6.)

Seiser Alm 29.6.2025

Yesterday (Friday), I couln'd fly at Rosengarten (Kölner Hütte), as the launch is rather steep and difficult to reach for me. I had to walk down to the middle station of the chair gondola...

landing in St.Zyprian

Today, Michael decided Seiser Alm, where I could make 2 flights; not very long but still nice. The first landing I could make on top; the second near my car.
Around 2200, thunderstormes with heavy rain started...

Galgenen 29.5.2026

Launch: Galgenen Gschwend

Very nice flying: good thermals - mostly around 2m/s climbs. So far this year, this is my longest flight until now (more than 2 hours...) :-))

Scuol -Motta Naluns 26.5.2026

PeterNa

Travelling by car to Schiers, then by RhB (train) to Scuol (0900-1015).

On launch PeterNo waided for me (> see pix). Not very easy to launch, but once airborne (very) strong thermals in front of launch and almost immediately up to about 3250msl (for a moment almost 6m/s climbing). Today I didn't like very much the conditions (same said PeterNo later), so I landed just short of 40'. Landing has been tricky as well: first it looked like landing heading West, but when I got closer to the LZ (at 50m hight), the wind sock showed now wind direction East, so I had to change my landing...

Back to train to Schiers (1341-1459) and then home by car (1645).

Galgenen 24.5.2026

launch (just left of the middle) (looking South)

Another nice (and warm) day. I had a good reverse launch ;-) For once I launched early, just after Andy. Waiting would have improved the conditions, but I'm happy enough with my flight...

Galgenen 21.5.26

Finally a nice (short) flight; thermal activity has been much less than predicted, but I had a nice launch and landing - which has been more important for me after 1.5 month without flying...

Arosa 7./ 8.4.: first flight after CO and with my new LeelooX (XL)

...first flight since 2.2. in CO (Chicamocha)... Meanwhile my glider also had been repaired - the damage happened when Michael has been testflying this wing in Bassano and had been hit by a hangglider as he was about to land...

                                                                                     pix by Oli

                                                      looking South: Bernina group

So what shall I tell you? I'm very happy to be 'back to normal': finding my words (more or less) again, I'm able (and allowed) to drive and of course able to fly again.

Oli spent these 2 days with me and helped me setting up, checking that I didn't make any mistakes for launching. I could make 3 flights: 3 good launches, nice thermal flights (a bit bumpy at times) to about 3050m and nice launches. Actually, 1 excellent launch and another very good landing :-))
It has been also a pleasury meeting some of my paragliding friends on the second day.

Rmk: I'm most happy of my LeelooX; of all the wings I have flown during the last 38 years, this wing I like most and he gives me the most feeling of safety. (120 flights now flown with several LeelooX-wings.) Many thanks to Michael for designing this wing and especially in XL for me.
